As Viola glanced into the darkened, misty mirror, she thought she saw not her own reflection, but the sinister face of a man.

She spun around swiftly, but saw only the empty room. She listened, hardly breathing, but heard no footsteps. She forced herself to look back into the mirror. The old glass was clear now, reflecting only her white face and terrified eyes. She didn't recognize herself - she was a ghost - trembling with fear at the unseen menace.
