Sheriff Hab Beely prided himself on having a peaceful town, so he was extremely annoyed when a tough-looking stranger rode in and kicked up a ruckus in Darton's saloon. Hab was getting on in years and he usually let his young deputy, Johnny Carver, handle drunks and suchlike. Trouble was, the stranger was no sooner locked up than a second newcomer put in an appearance, then five others at intervals. Soon, Johnny Carver's natural facility with his six-shooter was about to be put to the test.
