After waking up in bed with a younger woman, octogenarian Paul Jacobson can't recall how he got there -- or who the woman is. So he grabs the nearest pair of pants and skedaddles. Outside, he discovers the canals of Venice Beach, California…and a dead body. Soon, the forgotten pieces fall into place: the hot seventysomething woman in bed is his fiancée, he suffers from short-term memory loss, and the floater was an art dealer he had a loud argument with the night before.
The cops are suspicious, especially when two other bodies show up that Paul has connections to. Enlisting the help of his intrepid granddaughter, the pair follow clues into the lucrative local art community. Here shady dealings, eco-terrorists, and the plight of the homeless lure Paul into danger he won't soon forget -- if he can manage to stay alive.
