SEEKING REDEMPTION Ladies of the Night Second Book Vampires have been around since the time of creation. Some say they are Children of Lilith, while others insist they are Spawns of Satan. It is a curse to some and a salvation for others. But as in all things, nothing is entirely black or white. Instead, life is a myriad of colors and conflicting truths. There is good and evil, strong and weak. Then there is Farrah, Alina, Renate, Ilsa, and Molly. They have come to the American west to find a place to call home. They found such a place along the great Oregon Trail, and within no time at all, it sprang to life, gladly welcoming all newcomers. Their story could have ended there, but with vampires, nothing is ever that simple. Since the time of the great Conclave, all vampires, and creatures of the night, were ruled by a strict code of law. If they refused, they were hunted down and destroyed. The hunters were feared and could be monsters of a different kind. Relentless in their search for rogue vampires, they had to be avoided at all cost. Although Vampires are strong and possess wondrous powers, they are also quite vulnerable. Naturally, during the day they had to take precautions, but they could also fall prey to ancient diseases. When infected, a sick vampire must be destroyed. No one is entirely safe from his mindless violence. However, far more dangerous than sick, crazed, creatures prowling through the night is the real threat of discovery by the mortals. Condemned, reviled, and feared, by those who do not understand, a vampire must always stay alert. An angry mob is by far their worst enemy.
