In the hills above the Kzan River, at the site of ancient ruins, Yukunu, the Laughing Wizard, built a large house of his own liking - an eccentric structure of steep gables, balconies, bridges, domes and three green spiral glass towers through which the sun broke through rays of a strange color.Behind the house, dune-like hills stretched all the way down the valley to the horizon. The sun cast moving shadows in the shape of black crescents; otherwise, the hills seemed indistinguishable from each other, deserted, lonely. The Kzan flowed below, emerging from the Old Forest in the east of the Olmeri; three leagues to the west it joins withScoum. Here is located Azenomai, a city so ancient that no one knows when it was founded, famous for its fair, which attracts the population of the whole area. At the Azenomai Fair, Kugel opened a booth to sell talismans.
