Secrets of Rosemanor — Marjorie Everitt

"Looking for treasure," is the flippant answer Philippa Marshal gives a stranger who asks her what she'll be doing at Rosemanor, a historic Hudson River Valley farmhouse that predates the Revolution. Actually, Pip, a rare book dealer, has been hired by the family to catalog and appraise Rosemanor's old and extensive library.

When she arrives on the scene, though, Pip finds that the old house seethes with mysteries, and does, indeed, have a legend of a buried treasure -- and a ghost that guards it. It is not the ghost Pip comes to fear, however, it is the very-much-alive person who keeps watching her and laying deadly traps for her -- for fear she'll unravel the secret in one of the books and reach the treasure first!
