Bauchman was a small god in his own way--the richest man of the richest planet the worlds had ever known. Certainly he had a great deal of power--and he used it wisely. After all, there was that research sphere, presumably serving mankind. Or if not mankind, whom? Bauchman, of course. But what could Bauchman, the most powerful man in the known universe, possibly want that he did not have? Bauchman wanted to be God.
