Jack and Ashley cling to each other in terror as they struggle to push images of screeching bats from their minds. In their search for eight-year-old Sammy, the two Landon kids have become completely lost in a twisted maze of tunnels deep inside Carlsbad Caverns National Park.

Jack tries to stay calm, but he can't take his eyes off the lantern. He knows it will be only a matter of minutes until the candle melts away, leaving the two of them in total darkness. It is definitely time to panic!
