Tammall, a Zoadiun, is a genetically created and enhanced slave. A general house slave (maid, cook, gardener, etc,) last about fifty years, keeping good youthful looks, approximately mid to late twenties, until the last few years of their life, then rapid aging sets in. It is not pleasant for the slave as it really takes its toll on their body. Generally the owner, a Comp-Terx, has the option of doing the merciful thing and put the slave down rather than letting the slave suffer for their remaining few years. Personal slaves like Tammall on the other hand, are much different. They are made to last, living two hundred to two hundred and fifty years, and always looking like a teenager. Because of their long life, and great expense, these types of slaves are generally passed down the family line like a valuable asset, sort of like antique jewelry and the like. They accomplished this by preventing them from ever achieving puberty. This means they also do not have to deal with certain women related issues, but it makes it impossible for them to have children either. A side effect of this anti-aging process is that a portion of the brain also remains in the adolescent stage of development, which tends to get Tammall into trouble some times. As a personal slave, Tammall is pretty much at their owner's beck and call all day and all night. Personal slaves are trained to be very obedient, however, as mentioned before, sometimes the side effects of their altered genetic structure gets them into trouble, which includes the occasional case of disobedience. They also train personal slaves on many forms of pleasure, including sex, with both genders. This is the first book in the series involving the Zoadiuns and their Comp-Terx Masters.
