It all seemed like an incredible dream to Wilma Herrold when she inherited her great-uncle's Herrold Ranch, a nearby motel, and an Indian trading post. Though the ranch was capably run by Pete Morrison and Mike Lattigo, the trading post was operating at a loss--until Wilma stepped in. With the help of Jack Brett, an expert lapidary and exceedingly attractive man, Wilma soon made the shop a going concern.
It was then that the haunting legend of the distant Mesa de Oro--and a girl with a curious moss agate bracelet--threatened to destroy Wilma's richly deserved happiness.
