It all started with a dream. Max Kanar, the main author of this book, is a nine-year-old homeschooler. One morning he woke up with this scene buzzing in his brain: a young boy falls in an apple barrel, is helped up by a girl who becomes his friend, and the two of them head off to have adventures together. From this beginning, Max created the story of a normal boy named Roger Ambleton who must destroy an evil rock before it turns everyone in the world to stone.
