As and ordinary though competent secretary, Avis didn't normally expect glamorous foreign travel as part of her job -- so she was delighted to be sent on a business trip to Menton on the French Riviera -- and in the middle of winter too! Her client, Mrs. Clavell, couldn't have been more charming either -- which was more than could be said for her disagreeable son Holt, who seemed to go out of his way to be as suspicious of Avis as he could.
