Much as she had enjoyed working at a big London hospital, Sister Karen Scott felt it was going to be a pleasant change to go to a modern private hospital on the Isle of Wright, as Sister in charge of the Medical Unit. And another attraction was that now she could get away from what had been the traumatic experience of midwifery. So Karen was horrified to realize that in her new job she would still be expected to ‘diversify' and do midder if necessary! And it didn't help that Dr. Penrose Sanders was convinced she was just shirking. Still, what did it matter what Penrose Sanders thought? Karen wasn't going to take him seriously, was she?
