The unyielding, tenacious, career-focused, determined and attractive Mrs. Marie Cormike had been dismissed from her job after refusing to accept not only the promotion from Clarke but also the terms of the promotion. She would rather secure the trust of her husband, Jeff Cormike - a delivery truck driver and the love of their only child, Lacey, 3. After months of futile job hunting Marie watches her world crumble around her. Marie and Jeff Cormike have lost almost everything, their home, the luxury of kindergarden, electricity, their bank accounts and even their internet data plan. How worst could things have gotten when Jeff now only works for three days of the week? This obviously means less hours and by extension, less take home pay by the sole bread winner. While brushing the flakes from her hair, from off her face, Marie decides that something must be down, now She follows Jeff, who seeks a second job as a driver for one of the largest wine estates in Europe, praying and hoping that he would be lucky to fill the vacant position. It turns out that Jeff isn't lucky to be offered the position of driver. Marie, however, is offered the position of Executive secretary after greeting the owner and C.E.O. of Harshley's Wines Estates, Blair Harshley, with a handshake that causes a lot of things to change. Blair Harshley, one of London's most powerful men, rich, suave and handsome, decides that he must have Mrs. Marie Cormike by whatever means necessary. Marie Cormike not only needs the executive allowances and the luxury European car that comes with the job offer but she wants Blair Harshley from the moment their hands first touched, even though she keeps fooling herself that she doesn't. Frustrated by her husband's constant nagging false accusation of an affair between her and Blair Harshley, Marie finally leaves home and takes up residence with Blair, after hating Jeff, of course. Time goes by; Marie now has everything, but little does she know that the cars, the yacht and co-owning Harshley's Wines Estates will not make her happier after meeting the overly possessive and weird side of Blair Harshley, his cruel friends and his brutally jealous girlfriends. Is going home an option for Marie Cormike, especially when she now feels like the worst female ever made, a pooch to be exact. Will she ever be forgiven though? That's another question. But what if she decides to go back home and face the wrath of Jeff and her daughter, Lacey (now 9), who doesn't even know what her mother now looks like? Will Marie be permitted to leave the crashing empire of Blair Harshley, alive and unharmed, to offer emotional and physical healing to the family that she left behind? A personal note from the author - You've got to see this one.
