Avionce Griffin, was only sixteen when he was sentenced to fifty-eight years in prison for murder. Not long after his eighteenth birthday, Avionce is transferred to an adult male prison, exposing him to a way of life he was not prepared for. He later joins the prison's ‘Pen Pal' program with the hopes of escaping the mental anguish he suffered from daily prison life, as well as secrets from his past which led to his incarceration.
