Rangers Reunited — Jim Miller

In post-Civil War Texas, the Carstons and their neighbors have to fight to carve out a living and to fend off constant Indian attacks--until Will Carston decides it's time to take a stand. Sick of driving off one Comanche raid after another, Will rides to Austin to get the governor to re-establish the Texas Rangers. A handful of hard-bitten former Rangers fall in with him along the way.

What they get in the Texas capital is a cold shoulder from General Phil Sheridan and a lot of abuse from some Yankee soldiers who think the war is still going on. On the trail back toward Twin Rifles, the former Rangers are hit and hit hard by Comanches. When Will Carston is taken prisoner and tortured, only the Rangers' legendary guts and loyalty can save them --in a blazing showdown of dust, blood and guns.
