The office loft comic-strip artist Mary Pat Donovan shares with Olivia Cur­ wood and Corey Applegate is always a lively place. Mary Pat's comic strip, "Make Mine Millie," is achieving na­tional success; it seems only a matter of time before Olivia and Corey make it big too. You'd be hard pressed to find three people with more imagination. But a bizarre phone call from Mary Pat's long-lost relative sets off a chain of events that even his trio couldn't have dreamed up...

The mystery begins when distant cousin Josephine Caldwell insists that Mary Pat has-or at least had-a brother. Amidst denials from her par­ ents and lack of substantial evidence, Mary Pat is tempted to write Josephine off as a kook. And then the "accidents" start happening. Could it all be coinci­dence, or are the Donovan's the target of some strange vendetta? With Corey's help, Mary Pat uncovers two jigsaw puzzles that could solve the mystery.
