Pumphrey The WaterSpout — Larry Good

Meri, Wut, The Tackling Dummy, Jethro and Perfit cross The Mistercald River on flying wands and visit some of The Lands on the other side. Geometrical snow is falling in The Land of Falling You. That land loves to snow snow in the shapes of turnips, sometimes like houses, and sometimes even like you if you're passing by. In The Land of Haystack Swinging you're flying through the air yourself---from haystack to haystack, or perhaps to a hay mountain. Meri makes an important discovery which changes that land forever. Guess what!!? They also visit The Land of Buffalo Unicorns and meet---who else?---but Jethro's spectacular mother!! But something is going wrong with this land, too. Smithery, Jethro's younger brother, can't get out. The land just won't let him out---although Jethro visits as many of The Lands as he can. One thing you don't want to happen to you---if you're crossing The Mistercald with a flying wand--- is for a WaterSpout to come near. Pumphrey sees them, and, never having much company up in the air, approaches. Perfit is blown out of the saddle and Jethro begins to fall downward toward The Land of Wrong Kites. He has only seconds left. The mighty Buffalo Unicorn was turning so fast, and was so large that Meri tried several times but she just couldn't get a grip on his left leg in order to slow his descent. But she came right back each time. 'Don't worry!' she called out. The grass was coming up fast. Jethro could see dummies running below to the site of the expected crash. Him. In The Land of Wrong Kites, they meet an extraordinary dummy. He's from The Land of Loving Yellow.
