The magic book of enchanted creatures has mysteriously disappeared, along with its owner. To make matters even more confusing, David suddenly finds himself as a proxy parent to Vanish and Simone, the two feral street children who had been associated with the dispersal of the previous summoned monster. David is still recovering from his brief stint as a ghost, after being resuscitated by the intra-dimensional Simone, who instructed him to try to make the 'Earth' Simone more relatable to others. Of course, David is totally confused about how to do this and has no idea how to fulfill his obligations. Undeterred, he endeavors to follow instructions by taking Simone to the park to feed the ducks; feeding her ice cream and letting her ride a merry-go-round. However, it seems that the elusive Mister Francis, the magic book owner, is plotting to return, bringing with him the worst creature imaginable, and it's up to David and his companions to stop him. This defensive party also includes Harry, Vanish's magical pet, who has learned a new trick of tracking magical items. Together, they corner Mister Francis in his lair and the final battle begins. However, during the skirmish, Vanish disappears, perhaps mysteriously transported to another dimension, along with Mister Francis. Can Vanish be saved and returned to Earth? Simone thinks so, but not everybody agrees with her. And what really happened to Mister Francis?
