Rozah is a young Jewish Partisan guerrilla fighter who has escaped the Nazi death camp in Belgrade where her entire family has perished. A concert violinist, her soft nimble hands that once performed before hundreds now bear the looks of a carpenter's, her oversized boots and baggy trousers she wears have come from dead Germans killed in battle. She lives only to bring destruction on those who have destroyed her family. As she sinks into the caldron of perpetual memory pain, life loses value and purpose until one day when she sees a white parachute falling from the blue sky. The American pilot she rescues is unable to return to his base, lives among Jewish Partisans fighting Nazis, he and Rozah fall in love, and he promises to marry her after the war. When the Lieutenant leaves to join the American forces, the emotional scars of the holocaust return to her dark, lonely world. In their separation, will both be faithful to each other, and if he survives the war, will he return for her as he promised?
