A box is discovered hidden in a river and it exposes some disturbing information that has been suppressed for twenty five years. A diary - written by a former pupil of the local boarding school. It is passed on to another former pupil, James Drake, who reads the contents with increasing curiosity and horror. As the story unfolds, Drake is burdened with a deep sense of guilt at his failure to change a path which led to darkness. Imagine a cross between Donna Tartt and Bret Easton Ellis and you have Robert Browning's first novel.
