Polly and Jez are the best of friends. They write to each other about everything, just like their mothers and grandmothers before them. Polly loves to hear stories from her gran about the olden days. Jez can only read the letters her nanna wrote, but that's enough to imagine what life was like before she was even born. As the girls discover treasures, recipes, and stories from the past, they begin to dream up their own adventures.
