Nurse at Deer Hollow — Christine Bush

A change of scene was what lovely young nurse Libby Greene decided she needed after she ended a three-year relationship with Dr. Adam Stone, and so she left the hospital and began a career of private-duty nursing. Her first assignment was at Deer Hollow, the beautiful, secluded country home of Charles Weston, where she would care for his wife.

Although Libby had been certain that caring for one patient would be less taxing than tending to the needs of a number of patients in a hospital ward, she was surprised to discover that there were just as many, if not more, personal problems involved in private-duty nursing. She was living right in the patient's home, and was open to all the tensions of the family--Douglas Windham, the handsome brother of Mrs. Weston; attractive Charles Weston, Mrs. Weston's novelist husband; and their son, Bobby, a twelve-year-old who hates his mother with a vengeance; and Morgan Peterson, the dedicated young doctor who visits daily to examine his patient.

Fortunately, Mrs. McAdams, the housekeeper, is available to offer comfort and friendship to Libby. But when danger strikes, the young woman realizes that she is alone, that she must keep her own counsel or she will be forced to leave the house and the people she has come to love. Libby had come to Deer Hollow to reorganize her life, to pull herself together. Instead she found fear for her life and the excruciating pain of unreturned love.
