The Breakwater Hotel on Maine's beautiful seashore had a splendid reputation. But June Rusk got an unpleasant feeling the day she arrived and met Ernest Brinkley, the nervous hotel manager. There was something not quite honest about the man, and something sadly neglected about the majestic building.
As a hotel nurse, June realized she need not concern herself with the premises, only with her patients. Besides, she had other things to think about -- especially her growing attraction to young Dr. Tom Myers from town. But then Ernest Brinkley stinted on the medical costs -- and his daughter, Sue, chased after Tom -- and June knew she had a fight on her hands. Would she be up to it?
