Natalie's boyfriend Philip is a high-powered, successful surgeon. But while she feels safe and secure in his arms, she resents the way he bottles up his feelings; and how can she challenge him about the long hours he works, when he's doing it to save lives? When Philip discovers that he has inherited a dilapidated seaside cottage from his estranged father, and Natalie must undergo a serious operation, both of them are forced to examine their relationship and decide whether it's likely to stand the test of time.
