Gail Landon is a young man who wants adventure and excitement, and life on his parents' ranch, the Hanging X, can't satisfy him. So he turns to the outlaw trail instead and saddles up with the notorious Trantler gang. But on the very night the gang is planning a big robbery, Gail receives word that his parents have been killed and he has inherited the Hanging X. There's no way to escape the gang, but Gail's had enough of outlaws and is ready to begin a new life. His only chance is to go through with the robbery and then try to get away afterwards.
