He was a writer…
Charles Lawrence was a writer of crime books. He was about to begin the story of Hallie Parker, the New England spinster whose home, Shadowlawn, was the site of a bizarre multiple murder in the 1890's.
Ellen Barclay, just 21, was hired to accompany Lawrence to Shadowlawn as his secretary, to aid in research, note-taking and manuscript typing.
They arrived at the old house, a dark and ugly structure, protective by high trees on all sides, and found themselves fascinated by the many long corridors and rooms -- all smelling for years without fresh air and life.
It would only be a short time before Ellen would find herself entangled in a macbre re-enactment of history -- only whose part would she be playing?
