The Unhappy House
had been built before the days of soaring construction costs, and even for its time, had been a showcase. It did not make sense for such a place to stand empty for so many years, to be sold for the proverbial song and back taxes. Nicky Hunsaker was not about to question his good fortune, however, and despite his wife's misgivings he closed the deal and they moved in. But Shari knew from the beginning that the house did not like them, would never really belong to them; she had the uncomfortable feeling that they were sharing the house with some invisible tenants. The Nicky left her alone for one nightmare week -- and the invisible others suddenly began to attack her, determined to drive her away, or into insanity. Failing that, they would see her dead!
