New Pupil Midwife — Lisa Cooper

From the moment pupil-midwife Sally Ashford encounters Matthew Tregonna, senior registrar at the Princess Beatrice Hospital, sparks fly. She thinks him supercilious and arrogant, and Matthew seems to delight in teasing her. Sally rapidly loses her normal sunny sense of humour, resolving to avoid him in future. This proves to be unexpectedly difficult. He even turns up on her weekend home -- apparently to give her a lift back to London. When they stop for a picnic Sally's response to his advances shocks her. How can she have fallen in love with Matthew when she doesn't even like him?
