Squatting down by the car, he opened the door and unbuckled the seatbelt in a couple of seconds. His right arm went around the small girl's waist and his left hand covered her mouth. He slid back into his car and was gone in two minutes' time. He backed out of the parking lot and slowly drove the mile to the interstate. He growled out a laugh as he looked down at the little blonde-headed girl in the seat beside him. Sleep wouldn't come for Marlene until the early morning hours, and with it came her nightmare again. She saw a man's figure and then everything went black. Flashes of her past were beginning to haunt her. It must have something to do with Millie's death. Somewhere in her lost memory was the truth about her friend's murder. Would she ever remember what happened?
