My Mommy Went to Work — Laura Jackson

This story is about a young boy whose mom worked in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. I found my elementary students didnt understand everyone talking about 9/11 and the tragedy of it. Through this story, they may grasp the personal sorrow of this child and the hidden message of telling those you love how important they are.
