Madeline Davis, a junior at John Jay High School, is completely tone-deaf. So when she ends up in a band class due to a scheduling error, she's determined to get out, until she meets gorgeous saxophone player George Held. George is talented, witty, and charming, and Maddy's determined to captivate him. But Maddy just can't play the right notes, so her teacher asks Jeff Lang, another band member, to tutor her. Maddy's crushed-- she was hoping to work with George.
