Murder in Paradise — Richard Dana

The murder of Commissioner Friday on the tropical South Pacific island of Emeraldia brought two strangers to the island using the same name -- one was the Commissioner's nephew, the other was an impostor -- as well as a beautiful woman named Kathleen. It also brought to light some sinister secrets about this island paradise, involving hidden Japanese and seven million dollars worth of gold bars. Emeraldia, without connections with the outside world, moved steadily towards ugliness, hatred, and death. And, finally, a quiet, tragic finale proved how a dead man's wisdom hadn't quite been able to prevent it all.
