P.I. Billie Bly is about to enjoy a quiet Fourth of July until a letter arrives in the mail claiming she will be dead by the holiday.
Likely killers include a road rager, her boyfriend's stalking buxom ex-girlfriend, a look-alike little person assassin she thought was dead, a cop desiring revenge, a neighborhood bully, and a former Portland Mayor she ousted from office.
But when things start blowing up all around her and suspects start crawling out of the woodwork, Billie wonders if there is more than one killer gunning for her.
She handles things in typical tough P.I. Billie Bly fashion while working around her red, white, and blue-haired assistant with her loopy boyfriend.
There is only one way this case is going to end and it won't be easy, but Billie has never backed down from a challenge.
