"ALLOW ME TO PRESENT LADY CELESTE IMOGENE MARIE AUGE FAWTHROP."
Lord Degan looked down on the ball of gray rags that appeared to be inhabited by some form of human life. He perceived that beneath the tatters and filth a pair of bright, topaz eyes stared at him.
"I want to see my father, Lord Harlock. I am his daughter, Minou," she continued, dropping a dainty curtsey. The graceful movement was rendered ludicrous by her tattered ensemble.
Minou was very happy to have reached Papa and England safely. Disguised as a boy, she had braved the terrors of Robespierre's France to find safety in the home of her British father.
But now she would have to face again the dangers of Paris to do what all the English peers could not: rescue her mother and brother from the guillotine.
