Melanie Ann, A Legacy of Love — Eleanor Clark

A contemporary setting Twelve-year-old Melanie Ann, the oldest of all the grandchildren, is excited but curious when she received a special invitation to visit her grandmother's house alone. When she arrives, Grand Doll talks to her about her family's "legacy." Melanie is told that, because she is the oldest, she will one day inherit the memory trunk that has been passed down through the generations. The many stories from the items inside will continue on but only if Melanie will accept the task of being a "legacy-leaver." Will she accept such an awesome responsibility?
