McKenzie and Kate connect during farm camp at Heritage Farms and Village in Iowa, operated by McKenzie's aunt and uncle. While learning about town and farm life in different eras, the girls also begin to pick up on some mysterious events that make them a little uneasy. Why is food disappearing from the kitchen? And why is water running in the shower house at unusual times of the day? Why does a light appear in the old library -- a building not equipped with electricity?
