IN JANUARY OF A.D. 668, Fidelma of Cashel -- sister to the kings of Ireland and advocate of the Brehon law courts -- is called to investigate the brutal murder of Abbess Faife and the mysterious disappearance of six young female religieuses while on a short pilgrimage away from their abbey.
