Choosing a Life II is focused on the lives of Thunder, Velarie, Mary and Abigail Helms as they begin their lives in Canterbury, England. With the support of Thunder's good friend Elliot Evans, housing, employment and educational goals are set in order for the Helms family. Mary secures a teaching job and is led to meet her student Tommy Reid's uncle, Dennis Riley. As Mary begins to develop a friendship with Dennis, she is unaware of the danger that is starting to surround her. As the danger increases, it takes her brother Thunder, his friend Elliot and Dennis Riley to keep Mary safe.
