In this revisionist tale of Robin Hood, Maid Marian gets her due as, with the help of a friend, she rescues Robin Hood from the clutches of the evil Sheriff of Nottingham.
• “I can”t find Robin anywhere!” Marian's eyes blazed with agitation when she ran into Eleanor a few hours later near the village. “I looked all over. I gave the call in a number of different spots in the forest, but he didn't answer. I don't know where else to look.” Marian's usually neat hair was looking very unkempt, and she clenched and unclenched her fists nervously. “I just can't find him anywhere!”
• Eleanor put a hand on her friend's arm. “Never mind -- you're too late. The sheriff captured him two hours ago.”
• “Oh no!” Marian's already-wide eyes went even wider.
• “Wait. It gets worse. The sheriff says he is going to hang Robin tomorrow!”
• “That is awful!” Marian exclaimed. “We have to do something.”
• “What can we do?” asked Eleanor. “We are not strong enough to overpower the sheriff and free Robin Hood.”
