There are two brothels in the boomtown of Silver Belle, Colorado: The Mermaid and Liberty's Place. The two madams - Dora Dell and Liberty Finn - loathe each other. When news comes that one brothel will be closed after Christmas, an all-out war erupts as each madam attempts to destroy the other's reputation.
