Best-sailing author, Charles Locks, revisits Flamingo Bay two and a half years after Brian and Billie marry. It's not all steel bands, moko jumbies, and colored balloons. Engaged in their biggest marital dispute to date, Captain Brian isn't certain their marriage will survive. To sort himself out and to provide both a breather, but mostly to avoid strangling his wife's suitor, he chose self-exile in the British Virgin Islands. It's not working out for him. He needs to go home or set a course for Pitcairn Island. Diver Vaughn finds him at Cane Garden Bay to offer him work and remind him he has only a few days to organize the sixth annual Helen Keller Regatta and print T-shirts for the event. Captain Brian returns to St. Judas to take care of business and prepare for a showdown with Billie who's been slutting around with an old boyfriend. In Flamingo Bay he finds a disgruntled heir, Spanish gangsters, and a dead tourist, whose murder the police in two countries are trying to pin on him. Trying to pin him down is a Lufthansa flight attendant, as aggressive as his adversaries. Betrayed by friends and spouse, his baker's dozen of foes torment and befuddle him. He gets little help turning his life right side up except from Elroy, his Flamingo Bay irregular.
