Love for Sale — Scott Reed

The first part of a four part series. Gail was a young woman with dreams. Unsupported by her father she leaves everything she has known to pursue her dreams. With nothing but a faded newpapaer advertisement for models wanted, she takes off on a Greyhound with two friends and a stranger. The job is not what she expects, but she falls in love and settles into life in Las Vegas. One day, continuing her languid pursuit of a modeling career, she thinks that the big break has arrived. Her world crashes down as she learns just what happens when you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Gail has two friends, Jesse, a violent friend who covets Gail in a way he will never manage to realize. Jesse has been her sort of protector for many years, but his violence is scary to any who encounter him. Then there is Aaron. He is more reserved and cautious, but has deep troubles with his own father that make him a confused young man with no real hope. he runs away with his two friends to simply be part of a family. The fourth person on the journey is a man they don't really know also running from his own demons. They all get separated after arrival in Las Vegas, however, and their lives all take twists and turns into their own truth and eventuality. Part one is a novelette dealing with just Gail and her journey. you will watch as she falls in love only to be destroyed. This ending is part one. Her story continues and you will learn bits and pieces with each new part.
