Gillie had been only thirteen when she'd seen Dancer being born. Though she'd been around horses all her life, it had been mostly at the track, where there aren't any foals. From the first moment she'd seen him wobble about on his spindly legs, he'd been very special to her. When he left to be trained for the races, she counted the days until his return.
