Blood On The Green
From its wooded fairways to its salt-water inlets, Westchester's Milton Country Club is posh and peaceful. With the exception of the PGA Tour, it's the place lawyer-turned-golf pro Kieran Lenahan would most like to be in his life--until they start admitting dead bodies.
The first one shows up between the eighth green and the ninth tee. He was Sylvester Miles, self-made millionaire, war hero, and a founder of the club. The cops suspect the ex-juvenile delinquent Kieran has taken under this wing. Kieran suspects a frame-up as more corpses crowd the course. The would-be touring pro has to start scrambling--not just for his golf career, but for his every life--in a case that stretches from the intrigues of World War II to the politics of the modern-day Japanese mob.
A novel of mystery fans and golfing buffs alike, Local Knowledge reads like a great golf course: dog-legged turns, fast-breaking greens, and unexpected traps...except that in this case some of the traps can be fatal.
