His father told him he can have one when he is bigger, which seems marvelous at first - until he realizes he's not very big yet. Story and illustrations are by Holling Clancy Holling, who wrote and illustrated many wonderful Indian books such as Claws of the Thunderbird, Paddle-to-the-Sea, Tree in the Trail and others. The Hollings lived among Native Americans for a time, and their books have been praised for their authenticity.
