A $3,000 SADDLE
Boyd Little used to be a happy man. He was young and healthy and had $3,000 in gold coins he was going to use to buy horses for his uncle's ranch. But that was before he met Liam O'Day. Boyd came upon O'Day a few miles outside of Lewisville Flats. O'Day said his horse had broken its leg, so Boyd offered to let O'Day share his camp that night and Boyd would take him into town the next morning. But come the morning, there was no sign of O'Day . . . or Boyd's supplies, or his horse, or the gold that Boyd had hidden in the lining of his saddle skirts. What's worse, a posse from Lewisville Flats showed up, looking for the bank robber who'd left a dead horse near-by, the one they'd been tracking . . . the one they assumed belonged to Boyd.
