Letty's Branching Out — Gail Hamilton

Letty Smith could almost hear the plantive cries of the neglected spider plant left to die in an empty office destined for renovation. As the unofficial “plant lady” of Bandis Property Management, Letty, sort of heart and shy of manner, never could resist the plight of wilting, abandoned greenery. This time, her rescue mission leads her into the arms, literally, of Garner O'Neil, whose company is in charge of the renovations.

On an impulse, Garner asks Letty to be his date for a charity ball, and from there he introduces her to the whirlwind life of high society. Only Letty is used to a more sedate existence.

Their two worlds collide, and Letty is left to decide what is really importnant to her -- her family and friends who nurture her and provide her roots, or Garner, who has given her the chance to blossom into the woman she never imagined she could be.
