The look in Wynn Ransome's eyes told Terry Caputo she'd have to decide quickly. On one hand, Wynn Ransome was Le Club's most eligible male, which was saying something, considering the clientele of the chic Manhattan health spot. On the other hand, Terry was out to catch a criminal, and though she hardly knew Wynn at all, it was clear he had nothing illegal on his mind.

As duty warred with destiny, Terry became aware of a third factor: her partner, now probably suffocating in her closet. Neither he nor Terry could've guessed that her stakeout of Wynn was about to turn into a date.
