When Paul Bristol returns from Europe he knows his involvement in the war is inevitable. The artist and photographer is asked to go to the front and capture images of Confederate bravery. But he needs a trained assistant. Time constraints force him to accept an independent young woman named Frankie Aimes and head for the dangers of the battlefield.
